Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Announced Rs 1 Lakh Crore for Tech-Savvy Youth Millions of innovative tech ideas come up every year that can revolutionize industries and enhance human lives. These ideas emerge with a promise that could change the world if the right people work on it, and importantly, they get financial backing. However, a substantial portion of these ideas fail to make their way into the consumer's hands due to the lack of funding. Despite their potential to reshape the future, many innovative concepts fail to impress investors, thus unable to secure grants for their execution. Addressing the deficit in funding allocated for innovative ideas is a challenge that necessitates our attention and concerted efforts. Keeping that in mind, the Indian Government has taken the initiative to help the young geniuses of the country. In her Union Budget 2024 presentation, today, on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman highlighted a promising outlook for the tech-sa

OpenAI removes the prevention of military use of its tools from Term of Service

OpenAI removes the prevention of military use of its tools from Term of Service Many people have been worried about the safety concerns that Artificial Intelligence and modern technologies pose to human society. We have thousands of movies about how AI and humanoid robots take over the world and make humans their slaves. There is also a popular thought experiment dedicated to it. It is known as Roko's basilisk. "Roko's Basilisk is a thought experiment which states that an otherwise benevolent artificial superintelligence (AI) in the future would be incentivized to create a virtual reality simulation to torture anyone who knew of its potential existence but did not directly contribute to its advancement or development, to incentivize said advancement." These are mere speculation, and at the current period and in the next decade, we will have a technology that will endanger our existence. But, I fear what I just said would be proven wrong if we keep ignoring the necessi

AI Models are cool things, but how are they trained?

AI Models are cool things, but how are they trained? The year 2023 is coming to an end. This year, Generative AI, Artificial Intelligence, AI taking over the world, ChatGPT, Sam Altman and Elon Musk made millions of headlines. You do not need to worry; I am not talking about any of it today. I too feel tired of reading all these stories. OpenAI coup was interesting, I should admit that, but pretty much else kinda made me fed up.  Artificial has impacted our way of living quite interestingly. You see, the Internet is mostly a safe place as long as you just surf the surface, but it does not hesitate to become nasty once you take a deep dive below and the creepy part about it is that the deep below the sea of the internet is quite addictive. You do not need to care about fake content or fake news as long as your source of information is just mainstream media - not disagreeing that they publish fake news mistakingly. But, mainstream media is known to publish and circulate a set narrative s

'Salem's Lot is too slow and other Stephen King Books also are. I just learnt how to read Stephen King books

Image
'Salem's Lot is too slow Let's begin this a month before. My exams had just finished and I wanted to read Stephen King's books. I have heard about him a lot and also watched the film adaptations of his books and there are some children in my school who (when the majority prefer wasting time on the phone) read books, and they keep talking about Stephen King. I was not completely unaware of one of the best modern writers, I just hadn't read any of his masterpieces.  I started searching the internet for Stephen King books that beginners could read. When I was going through all the books he had published, I came across one with a very peculiar, yet interesting title, "'Salem's Lot." The title seemed interesting enough, so I clicked on it. I opened the Wikipedia page for the book and the plot also seemed good enough for me. 'Salem's Lot is the second published novel by Stephen King. He published it in the year 1975. The story of a writer named B

Diwali 2023: Celebrating the festival by spreading love and embracing togetherness Diwali, the festival of light, is celebrated each year to mark the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.  It is a festival not limited by culture, religion, or country. Today, we set aside our differences and pray for universal peace and prosperity.  The festival is celebrated by lighting diyas, making rangolis outside houses, and of course with bursting crackers.  The diyas that we light resemble the hope and prayers of joy and happiness of our and also others.  The rangolis made at the doors of the houses are a symbol that today we set aside our differences and everyone, even our enemy, is welcome to celebrate the festival of lights with us. The lighting of firecrackers, even though wasn't a part of the original Diwali tradition, has evolved to become the message of joy. We burst crackers with our neighbors, without keeping in mind their class, caste, sex, or race. When we light a rock

Stationed in the toughest terrains, away from their loved ones, their sacrifice and ded

Let's celebrate Diwali this year like it was meant to be celebrated

Image
Let's celebrate Diwali this year like it was meant to be celebrated Firstly, I want to wish each of you a radiant and joy-filled Diwali. Whether you celebrate it or not, whether you follow a different religion, today is the day we share love and pray for peace and happiness. Diwali is the time when we transcend cultural, religious, and political boundaries, opening our hearts even to our enemies. Diwali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the victory of good over evil. It is one of the most anticipated and widely celebrated festivals in India and worldwide. This joyous occasion marks the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The main reason behind Diwali's celebration lies in its association with the epic Ramayana, which narrates the return of Lord Rama, along with his wife Sita and loyal companion Lakshmana, to their kingdom of Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana. The people of Ayodhya welcomed their beloved prince by lighting oil lamps, or diyas, to dis

4,400 children died in Gaza because of Isreali air strikes; French President Macron condemns

4,400 Children dead in Gaza When innocent lives - like that of children and women - are lost, it is the saddest thing in the war. Buildings can be made again, lands can be acquired again, and armies can be rebuilt, but the lives lost can never be brought back.  According to recent reports around 4,400 children have been reported dead due to Israeli air strikes in Gaza. The French president, Emmanuel Macron, has said there is “no justification” for the Israeli bombing of babies, women and elderly people in Gaza. Stubble Burning: The major cause of the poor air quality in Delhi

Image
New Delhi has become one of the most polluted cities on the planet again. New Delhi has become one of the most polluted cities on the planet again. The main reason for the air pollution in the national capital region is the burning of stubble. Stubble burning is a major contributor to Delhi's deteriorating air quality. The data from the Commission on Air Quality Management report suggests.  Stubble refers to the left stalk of wheat, rice, or any other crop after it has been harvested.  The stubble is hard to remove with hands, so fire is put to burn them, which releases a lot of smoke, deteriorating the air quality of that area and nearby regions are also affected by it. Due to the wind movements, the smoke from the burned stubble of Haryana and Punjab enters the National Capital Region and mainly pollutes the environment of the Indian capital, New Delhi.  Stubble burning contributed about 38% to the air pollution level on 8 November, according to the data presented during a meetin

A message to our friends in Israel

Image
Today is the 19th day since the Israel-Hamas conflict started. Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7. The militants, who are most active in Gaza fired around 2,200 rockets from the small strip of land on October 7, and thousands of Hamas fighters breached the borders and entered Israel slaughtering around 1,400 Israelis in the nearby towns and murdering 200 in the open music festival. Images and videos have appeared online showing how horrifically Hamas monsters have killed families, children, women, and even newborns.  Their actions are so cruel that no punishment is enough.  There have been many wars on this land and history has seen many barbarous scenes committed by the invaders. Human Beings evolve and we should evolve from these ravageous actions. We are walking towards becoming a civilized society, working towards a more humane approach. Wars are not wrong. Some are fought to uphold justice and truth, but most are fought because of the ego, desire for power, and wealth o

Why Autoplay Video ads are bad for websites

Image
Why Autoplay Video ads are bad for websites I have been using the Internet for a long time now. The websites that I visited 10 years ago have changed - at least most of them. Websites are becoming more complex with each passing year. New technologies are being developed. The Web Developers are working to provide more features to the users. The size of a webpage has also increased to what it used to be just a decade ago.  The old websites (of around the 2000s) had just texts - that too default ones - and sometimes images. Their size was around 50 kb. Nowadays, websites are using icons, different fonts, high-resolution images, and most importantly videos. These contents increase the size of the page massively. The size of a webpage which used to be around 50k kb a couple of decades ago is now around 4-5 mb on average.  The features offered by websites are improving but it is also increasing the size of the webpage, which makes it difficult to provide the best possible user experience to
