“Every person must have some skill in life.” Describe an important skill that you are learning, giving the various advantages that will accrue to you after learning it.

Skills are one of the most crucial things for a person's development. Every individual must have it. Skills make a person unique from the masses. In today's competitive world, having at least one skill becomes essential. Skills like time management, critical thinking, and writing can be helpful for students to excel in their studies. They can also help to make a good impression in front of the employers. Employers prefer candidates having skills with less academic performance over those with no skills but high academic performance. Skills can significantly improve the quality and efficiency of the work, as someone with leadership skills can head a project or a department effortlessly. Skills can help an individual to adapt to different challenges faced during their lifetime. Skills are of several types, like reading, teamwork, and communication, but writing is the most significant. I am currently learning to improve my writing skills. I believe the ability to write and convey m

Printed Books are Better than E-Books

Image
PRINTED BOOKS ARE BETTER THAN E-BOOKS Books are one of the largest sources of knowledge. Besides giving information, they also improve vocabulary, reading, and imagining skills. Books also help in developing a perspective for a particular topic or viewing it from a different one. Ernest Hemmingway, renowned American novelist and short story writer, once said: There is no friend as loyal as a book Books let us travel throughout the planet, different worlds and even outer space without lifting our feat. "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies". He experiences adventure, joy, fear, pain, and sadness through the author. Many cultures encourage students to read books from an early age. In Indian culture, students were required to read the lessons, learn and understand by heart after the teachers had completed them. There are endless advantages to reading books. Books are of different genres like mystery, adventure, fiction, history, non-fiction, horror, etc. Some provide i

Population in India - Is it Good or Bad for the 5th Largest Economy?

Population refers to the total number of humans, animals, or plants inhabiting a particular place, region, state or country. According to the United Nations Population Report, India is expected to surpass China to become the most populous country by the middle of this year, with an overwhelming population of 1.42 billion. This essay will list some of the many merits that the fifth-largest economy and the world's largest democracy can have with this large population. People are the backbone of a nation. A decreasing population is often disastrous and is one of the main faction that leads to the collapse of the nation. On the other hand, a larger population is not a burden but an important asset for the country. They can boost the economy, generate new innovative ideas, bring in foreign investments, and spread the culture to other regions. If there are more people, they will compete with each other for jobs and work to improve their skills and knowledge thus the country will have ski

Population in India - Is it Good or Bad for the 5th Largest Economy? Submission 2

Population in India, a curse or boon? India, with a population of almost 1.42 billion is already the 2nd most populous country in the world. It has already overtaken the former ruler of the world, the Great Britain (UK), and claimed the position of the 5th largest ecomony in the world. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), "At current prices and exchange rates, therefore, India will be a USD 3.7 trillion economy in 2023, maintaining its lead over the UK as the fifth largest economy of the world." As the upcoming Superpower, India looks forward to develope every sector and increase its contibution to the global commerce. China, being the most populous country in the world with a population of almost 1.46 billion, has been the "sweet poison" for all the countries around the globe, has proclaimed itself as the next world leader and is the toughest competitior to India. Over the decades, China, under the dictatorship of Xi Jinping has gained extreme dependence m

Population in India - Is it Good or Bad for the 5th Largest Economy? Submission 1

India is currently the world's first-most populous country, with a population of over 140.76 crores people. While a growing population can bring positive effects on an economy, such as increased workforce and consumer demand, it can also strain resources and put pressure on infrastructure. Therefore, the impact of population growth on the 5th largest economy is a topic of debate among economists, policymakers, and the public. a larger population can provide India with a larger workforce, which can lead to increased production and economic growth. With a growing population, India can also have a larger consumer base, which can drive demand and stimulate economic activity. Additionally, a larger population can lead to more innovation and creativity, as there are more people contributing ideas and solutions to problems. The youthful population in India can be an asset in the form of the demographic dividend, where a higher proportion of working-age individuals can boost the economy

Narrate an experience that shows appearances can be deceiving

Image
A person standing in the railway station dressed in a good looking attire It is a common habit of humans to make judgements at the first look. It does not matter if we are seeing a person or a thing for the first time, our minds do not need to take a second look before coming to a judgement. If we look at a person, we quickly look at his clothes and shoes and come to the assumption that he is poor or rich. The same is the case with things, we decide for ourselves whether a substance is expensive or cheap just by its glittering and glistening. Over time, many learned personalities have taught us to "not judge a book by its cover." Through his various plays and writing, William Shakespeare, the popular eighteenth-century English writer, has sent the message to not fall for outward appearances. I have recently expereinced an incident that explains why is it important to not rely on just outward appearances to make a judgement about a person. I was travelling by train during my s

Essay on Euthanasia and How to Deal with It

Euthanasia means ending one's life to relieve suffering. It is also known as "mercy killing." It is usually performed on patients suffering from a disease or an injury for years, and their way of living is highly affected by those sufferings. It is also a way of reducing the burden on the family when they cannot afford the costly medicines needed for the remedy of the disease or illness. It is not limited to humans. Many pets-owners go with the difficult option of euthanasia or mercy killing to end the suffering of their beloved pets. Euthanasia is a tough decision, and dealing with its aftermath is difficult. If someone close to you has voluntarily opted for euthanasia or has been suggested by the doctor to go with the option, it can be hard to deal with the situation. It should be understood that the person or pet is suffering from excruciating pain or incurable diseases. It is good to grieve the loss of a loved one, but you should not grieve forever and move on from th

A message to our friends in Israel

Image
Today is the 19th day since the Israel-Hamas conflict started. Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7. The militants, who are most active in Gaza fired around 2,200 rockets from the small strip of land on October 7, and thousands of Hamas fighters breached the borders and entered Israel slaughtering around 1,400 Israelis in the nearby towns and murdering 200 in the open music festival. Images and videos have appeared online showing how horrifically Hamas monsters have killed families, children, women, and even newborns.  Their actions are so cruel that no punishment is enough.  There have been many wars on this land and history has seen many barbarous scenes committed by the invaders. Human Beings evolve and we should evolve from these ravageous actions. We are walking towards becoming a civilized society, working towards a more humane approach. Wars are not wrong. Some are fought to uphold justice and truth, but most are fought because of the ego, desire for power, and wealth o

Microsoft now asks you the reason if you download "another browser" from Edge

Edge is now asking questions about why you are downloading a new browser from the Edge. Microsoft released its latest modern version of Edge browser in 2020 soon after which it discontinued providing support for one of the major browsers Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer 11 was the last major update given by Microsoft. Since the release of Microsoft Edge, there has been fierce competition between Microsoft and Google for attracting users to their browsers. Microsoft Edge comes with several unique features which you cannot be able to find but Chrome, but Google Chrome ranks at the top for the user's choice of browser. Microsoft had a history of recommending its Edge browser to its Windows users and requesting them to switch to Microsoft Edge as the default browser.  But recently, it was reported by The Verge  that Edge is now asking questions about why you are downloading a new browser from the Edge. For the last 2 years, it has been recorded Microsoft keep annoying its users by

Israel slams UN Secretary-General António Guterres remarks about Israel-Hamas Conflict

Image
There is an outrage after UN Secretary-General António Guterres justified the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel by saying that there is a reason for the attack which Hamas carried out. “It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum,” Guterres said at a UN Security Council meeting on the Israel-Hamas war, which started when the terror organisation attacked Israeli border communities, killing more than 1,400 people, almost all of them civilians. “The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing,” Secreatary-General Guterres said. Guterres added that “the grievances of the Palestinian people cannot justify the appalling attacks by Hamas. And those appalling attacks cannot justify the collective

Elon Musk offers 1 billion dollars to Wikipedia if it changes it names

Image
The world's richest man Elon Musk has offered the free encyclopedia and one of the most visited websites Wikipedia 1 billion dollars if the online encyclopedia changes its name to "Dickipedia." Tesla CEO and owner of X (formerly Twitter) wrote in a post on X, “I will give them a billion dollars if they change their name to Dickipedia.” “Please add that to the [cow and poop emojis] on my wiki page,” he continued in another post. “In the interests of accuracy.” When one user, journalist Ed Krassenstein, suggested the online encyclopedia take the deal, saying that it can “can always change it back after you collect,” Musk added a condition to his offer. “One year minimum. I mean, I’m a not fool lol,” he wrote. Musk had made multiple posts earlier Sunday criticizing the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit that hosts Wikipedia, for asking for money. “Have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation wants so much money? It certainly isn’t needed to operate Wikipedia,” he wro

Why Autoplay Video ads are bad for websites

Image
Why Autoplay Video ads are bad for websites I have been using the Internet for a long time now. The websites that I visited 10 years ago have changed - at least most of them. Websites are becoming more complex with each passing year. New technologies are being developed. The Web Developers are working to provide more features to the users. The size of a webpage has also increased to what it used to be just a decade ago.  The old websites (of around the 2000s) had just texts - that too default ones - and sometimes images. Their size was around 50 kb. Nowadays, websites are using icons, different fonts, high-resolution images, and most importantly videos. These contents increase the size of the page massively. The size of a webpage which used to be around 50k kb a couple of decades ago is now around 4-5 mb on average.  The features offered by websites are improving but it is also increasing the size of the webpage, which makes it difficult to provide the best possible user experience to

US Government picks 31 regional tech hubs to encourage US innovation

Image
The United States Commerce Department is naming 31 regional tech hubs from 370 applicants. This act will make these 31 regions eligible for 500 million dollar federal government funding to help encourage innovation across a variety of sectors. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told reporters the program aimed to diversify the United States away from its traditional tech hubs like Silicon Valley, Seattle and Boston. "Those tech ecosystems are concentrated in just a few places around the country," Raimondo said. "They don't reflect the full potential of our country... They don't corner the market on great ideas." This program is the part of the US President Joe Biden government's endeavour to help fund key sectors like electric vehicle manufacturing, green energy, and semiconductors to bring private investments. This actions are taken to counter China's growth in these sector and the threat it poses to the global security. White House National Economic

Just completed all 4 seasons of Castlevania

Image
It is my vacation and I have nothing to do. I could study or complete my notebooks, but I have decided to spend most of my time on my phone. Recently, I came across a series called Castlevania on Netflix and yesterday, I completed all the episodes of the Netflix series Castlevania. It took me 2 days to complete 4 seasons of this series, which has 32 episodes: 4 episodes in season 1, 8 in season 2, 10 in season 3, and 10 in season 4. The series was created and written by Warren Ellis, British novelist and screenwriter. The series is based on the Japanese game series of the same name and the animation is also inspired by Japanese animated works. I read the story of the development of Castlevania and it was hell. The series took so long to start until it was picked up by Netflix and after then new seasons came after a gap of a year or two, mostly one year between the year 2017 and 2021. I completed this story yesterday around 5:15 pm which I started two days ago. Story Summary The story s

ISRO successfully confucted Gaganyaan failure test

Image
Crew Module successfully landed in the Bay of Bengal The Indian Space Research Organisation conducted the third big test for the Gaganyaan Mission yesterday the 21st of October 2023. The Gaganyaan Mission aims to send astronauts into space, which is expected to be carried out by ISRO in the year 2025.  The liquid-propelled single-stage Test Vehicle (TV-D1) lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on a brief yet consequential flight carrying a homegrown system that would be crucial for the safety of the Indian astronauts in case of an emergency during the Gaganyaan Mission. The Crew Escape System which was tested yesterday made sure that the three-men orbital mission that will be sent to space in 2025 is capable of ejaculation of the crew during unforeseen situations.  The test was initially planned for 8 a.m. yesterday but was postponed to 10 a.m. because of unfavorable weather conditions. The test validated the motors that will be used during this mission, which included low-alt

The October Killings Chapter 1: Mr. Sharma

Image
The sky was dark. Grey clouds blocked the sun's warmth from falling on the small town of Aldaye. A gentle patter of rain now started falling on the streets of Light Square. People moved hurriedly and pulled out their umbrellas, those without it took shelter beneath the sheds of the shops. At first, the rain was gentle, producing soothing music, but now it became intensified. The streets shimmered with the reflected glow of streetlights and the headlights of cars passing by. It was the first October shower in Aldaye, bringing relief after the scorching summer heat. Pratas Sharma, a tall man wearing an onyx black suit, stood in front of a coffee shop waiting for the rain to stop. He looked at his wristwatch, deftly pulling up his sleeves. It was 9:27 p.m. Mr Sharma was late again for home. He promised his daughter that today he would reach home on time for her birthday celebration, but he had forgotten yet again. He owned the news website Truth Finder  which was popular among the lef

PM Modi spoke to the Palestinian President

Image
PM Modi spoke to the Palestinian President Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and conveyed his condolences for the loss of lives after the bombing of the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza. The Palestinian authorities and Hamas terrorists have blamed Israel for the bombing, which has been striking the Gaza Strip for days now. The Israeli Defence Forces has denied this allegation and shared "proof" that the rocket that hit the hospital was of Islamic Jihadists.  The United States and President Joe Biden have confirmed that their intel provides no evidence that Israel was responsible for the attack.  The bombing of the Gaza hospital killed hundreds of citizens, mostly children and women, who took shelter after Israel started bombing the Hamas terrorist's hideouts. Protests have broken out in the Arab countries after the blast in the hospital and many have accused Israel of it. The Indian Prime Minister has expressed his sadness and conveyed his
