Reflecting at my life: Everything Bad about me

Image
Reflecting on my life: Everything Bad about me I have been on Earth for sixteen years. I have done a lot of things since I was born; some are good, and most are bad. I have said and done many things - both intentionally and unintentionally - which caused pain to others that I cannot imagine nor can I ever understand. I am not a bad person, at least I think so, but my deeds are bad. There were times when people overlooked my misdeeds saying that I was merely a child, but I do not blame them as someone told me my face looks like that of an innocent person. As the saying goes, the most sinful people are dressed in the most formal attire. I am the best living example of this saying. At least, I am best at something aside from hurting others. I have committed all the seven cardinal sins in just my sixteen years of living, namely: Pride, Greed, Wrath, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. I have done the wrong things. How many times? That even I cannot remember. I am writing this to confess a...

'Salem's Lot is too slow and other Stephen King Books also are. I just learnt how to read Stephen King books

Image
'Salem's Lot is too slow Let's begin this a month before. My exams had just finished and I wanted to read Stephen King's books. I have heard about him a lot and also watched the film adaptations of his books and there are some children in my school who (when the majority prefer wasting time on the phone) read books, and they keep talking about Stephen King. I was not completely unaware of one of the best modern writers, I just hadn't read any of his masterpieces.  I started searching the internet for Stephen King books that beginners could read. When I was going through all the books he had published, I came across one with a very peculiar, yet interesting title, "'Salem's Lot." The title seemed interesting enough, so I clicked on it. I opened the Wikipedia page for the book and the plot also seemed good enough for me. 'Salem's Lot is the second published novel by Stephen King. He published it in the year 1975. The story of a writer named B...

Diary: How I celebrated Diwali 2023

Image
Diary: How I celebrated Diwali 2023 Yesterday, the world celebrated the festival of lights, Diwali.  People all around the world burned crackers, but I, following my pledge, did not burn any.  I celebrated a clean Diwali, like what it used to be celebrated. I was also delighted that this year, following the regulation of the authorities, people avoided burning firecrackers significantly. I didn't do anything special this Diwali. I woke up at six, read the newspaper, went outside to bring the things my mother asked me to, and watched lots of YouTube videos.  I have a vacation in school, so I don't have to go there for a week.  I am trying my best to utilize this time in studying, but barely doing any.  Yesterday, I completed Exercise 9.4 of my ICSE ML Aggarwal Class 10 math book and mostly spent all my day on the phone. I also published a few stories yesterday as you can see by navigating the site.  I wouldn't say that I did anything productive yesterday. I ...

The lighting of firecrackers, even though wasn't a part of the original Diwali tradition, has evolved to become the message of joy. We burst crackers with our neighbors, without keeping in mind their class, caste, sex, or race. When ...

Let's celebrate Diwali this year like it was meant to be celebrated

Image
Let's celebrate Diwali this year like it was meant to be celebrated Firstly, I want to wish each of you a radiant and joy-filled Diwali. Whether you celebrate it or not, whether you follow a different religion, today is the day we share love and pray for peace and happiness. Diwali is the time when we transcend cultural, religious, and political boundaries, opening our hearts even to our enemies. Diwali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the victory of good over evil. It is one of the most anticipated and widely celebrated festivals in India and worldwide. This joyous occasion marks the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The main reason behind Diwali's celebration lies in its association with the epic Ramayana, which narrates the return of Lord Rama, along with his wife Sita and loyal companion Lakshmana, to their kingdom of Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana. The people of Ayodhya welcomed their beloved prince by lighting oil lamps, or diyas, to dis...

Harmonies of Self-Discovery: A Journey from Words to College

Hey, so imagine this – life's this crazy rollercoaster, right? Growing up, I was just a tiny player in this giant game of existence. But then came high school, and bam! Everything got real. Juggling classes, dealing with the drama, and trying to figure out who I am – it's like a maze of self-discovery. In the midst of it all, one thing became clear – I love words. Not just the fancy ones you find in textbooks, but the messy, authentic ones that spill out when you're trying to express yourself. Writing became my escape, my way of making sense of the chaos. Whether it's crafting a killer essay or pouring my heart out in a journal, words became my allies. Now, here I am, standing at the crossroads of the future. College is the next big adventure, and I'm ready to dive in. I want to surround myself with people who get that words have power – power to connect, to inspire, to change the game. So, let me in, and let's turn this rollercoaster ride into a literary master...

Image

Due to the wind movements, the smoke from the burned stubble of Haryana and Punjab enters the National Capital Region and mainly pollutes the environment of the Indian capital, New Delhi.  Stubble burning contributed about 38% to the air pollution level on 8 November, according to the data presented durin...
